On hearing of the death of our beloved Seanie

On hearing of the death of our beloved Seanie we are deeply saddened but of course grateful to God for relieving him of the heavy burden of these weeks of struggle with his declining health. Our thoughts, prayers and sympathy are with his dear Dodie, Joe and family. May God comfort them as they mourn such a devoted husband, dad, granddad and great granddad. Seanie was more than unique and his dedication to family and parish community was exceptional. Seanie was undeniably the quintessential sacristan in the unwavering faithful service he so generously and tirelessly gave to St. Cianán’s, right to the end, only saying to me before Christmas “You should get someone else”!! I think Seanie would count it a privileged blessing to die on the day Pope Benedict was buried!! May the God of infinite love and mercy take both humble servants of the Lord into his heavenly embrace with Our Lady, the Saints and all the faithful departed. Though we weep we rejoice in the length of life Seanie has shared with us and we most certainly count our blessings as family and faith community for knowing, loving and respecting such a humble person of God.
